WOOT! Lil Wayne is Working on ‘Carter V’ with Scott Storch

Folks, the wait is almost over. Rap veteran Lil Wayne is getting closer to the release of his long awaited Carter V album. It’s been a whopping five years since the last Carter installment and he’s been involved in a multi-year battle with his label, Cash Money suing its head Bryan “Birdman” Williams for tens of millions in backpay including not releasing his music. Well this week producer Scott Storch posted a pic on Instagram with Lil Wayne captioned with “Election is over and storch is at least here to make hits ??? @liltunechi_c5 #weworking.” Though no info on what exactly they’re working on, this is Scott Storch we’re talking about. The guy has sobered up and on his A game with Dr. Dre after a hiatus due to drugs and bankruptcy. This wouldn’t be the first time these two have worked together as they both have collaborated on You Ain’t Know on the Like Father, Like Son joint album with Birdman in 2006 and Fat Joe’s Make It Rain that same year.

Wayne hasn’t completely been out of the game as he did release his Free Weezy album in 2015 exclusively on Tidal, leading to a $50 million lawsuit from Cash Money for breach of contract, ironically about the same amount he was sued for not released Tha Carter V. After a series of singles released since 2014 and 3 years behind schedule on a released date, the album is now scheduled to be out some time in 2017. Hang in there, we’re still rooting for you Weezy!
