TNT has ordered a new show starring comedian and actress Niecy Nash titled Claws. Niecy stars as Desna, a money launderer turned entrepreneur and owner of the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon.

The midnight-dark black comedy also features Jenn Lyon, who plays Niecy’s character’s bestfriend named Jennifer, Judy Reyes as the salon’s security officer Quiet Ann, Carrie Preston as a mild-mannered parolee who served time for identity theft named Polly and Karrueche Tran as Virginia, a very impatient but stylish young lady.

The show also stars Harold Perrineau as Dean, Desna’s mentally ill brother who she takes care of and Jack Kesy as a gangster named Roller.

The show will premiere on Sunday, June 11 at 9/8 CST and is executive produced by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack.

I will give it a chance. I think that Niecy Nash is an underrated actress and this show is the perfect blend of drama and comedy to show that she is more than a comedian. Take a look at the trailer below:
