Almost one month after releasing the song to the world, Maroon 5 has released the official music video for their SZA assisted new song What Lovers Do. Written by Adam Levine alongside Brittany Talia Hazzard, the song serves as the official third single from the band’s upcoming currently sixth studio album.

The music video was directed by Joseph Kahn and acts as a mini film as SZA and Adam Levine chase each other in different scenarios including mermaids, godzilla, and leg races and a casino:

An electro-pop song, What Lovers Do also has a tropical/reggae-fusion-esque feel, which is starting to become quite popular with today’s music, but really set’s Maroon 5 and SZA’s collaboration apart is that it doesn’t seemed as forced as others. Adam’s voice flows effortlessly with the beat while SZA gives the song that extra touch to make it just right.

Released on August 30, What Lovers Do has so far managed to reach #23 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, #11 on the Adult Top 40 and #25 on the Adult Contemporary chart.
