WATCH: Cher and Future Sing Together in Gap’s New Fall 2017 Ad Campaign

Well this is something I must admit that I DID NOT see coming. I’ve always stated that there is a fine line between Pop and Hip Hop as they are one in the same. To help prove that, legendary singer and actress Cher has teamed with “superstar” rapper Future for a new Gap ad.

In the ad titled Meet Me in the Gap, Cher and Future sit and sing Sly and the Family Stone‘s Everyday People. While Cher sings majority of the lyrics, Future chimes in wit ha few ad-libs and believe it or not, actually harmonizes pretty well with Cher’s voice. Take a look at what Cher had to say about working with Future in the Director X directed clip:

“When Gap said they wanted to team me up with a young artist I knew it would be really beautiful. We had a blast together.”

She added:

“I can’t even tell you how many denim jackets I have or how many I’ve had in my lifetime. I couldn’t tell you if you put a gun to my head. My grandmother wore jeans, my mother wore jeans, I wore jeans my kids wore jeans. It’s something that has been in my life since I was a little kid.”

Future is also a Gap fan and stated:

“It’s part of my DNA, growing up wearing Gap and now to see my son wearing it and in a campaign ties the whole family together. They have something for every age, every person in a family.”

When speaking about working with Cher, Future expressed how they connected and even called her a elegend (how could he not?):

“It was cool to work with someone who is in the industry but has such a different background and life from me. Our love for music really connected us. She’s a true performer and a legend.

I couldn’t help but follow her lead and also ask her for a few pointers on stage presence in front of the camera in this type of setting.”
