T.I. Says He’d Rather be Tiny’s Best Friend than Her Husband
Rapper T.I. appeared on Angie Martinez’ Power 105 show in New York the morning before his performance at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame honoring Tupac. During the interview, T.I. spent time complimenting Tupac and discussing his reality show but incidentally dropped what could be seen as a major slight to his wife Tiny. While talking about the current state of affairs between the two, he made a comment stating “I can be a better best friend than I was a husband” to which Angie said “women hate to hear that sh**.” He refers to Tiny as being “still one of the best friends [he’s had] in the world.”
During the end of T.I. and his wife Tiny’s reality show T.I. & Tiny: The Family Hustle the two have begun going their separate ways which has played out heavily in the blogs, but T.I. says the two have no beef and that it’s all talk by people around them. As for getting through a show with a spouse you no longer feel the same way about that you once did, he said he did so “with dignity and respect” as he does everything else. Though no longer together, he still has lofty plans for his family. He says he’s into empire building and wants to take his family name as far as it can go. Whether or not those plans include Tiny and if so, to what extent is still up for debate. When asked by Angie if he had any relationship advice, he said to simply “close your eyes and jump.” He declined to comment on whether he would be doing any more jumping anytime soon.
He also touched on his comments towards President Donald Trump saying “If white supremacy was a corporation he (Donald Trump) would have the leading endorsement” and as for his honoring of Tupac later that night, he said he would be performing Keep Your Head Up which is as appropriate of a song to perform now than ever. He said Tupac’s mind at age 21, around the time he did most of his interviews was amazing and that he was arguably as prolific as Bob Marley.
