#SayWhatNow: George Clinton Says He Wants to Work with Cardi B

Cardi B’s 25, running the rap game and breaking records seemingly on a daily basis all without her first album coming out yet. One record she probably hasn’t expected to break, or make for that matter is one with the Godfather of Funk, Mr. George Clinton himself. During a Reddit Ask Me Anything session, he revealed in an hours long session that he’s been listening to a lot of trap music lately and surprisingly, Cardi B. That’s a major cosign for someone with such a young career.

Flying Lotus, Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar, Jay-Z’s new album, Tra’Zae, and all that sh*t coming out of Atlanta. All that trap shit. I’m trapped in it. Medicaid Fraud Dog, that’s on my mind right now.”

Regarding who he would like to work with, he said “I’d like to work with Cardi B. She’s got the funk.” If there is any question about why a modern day rapper would work with a 76 year old artist, just ask Eric Skelton with Pigeonsandplanes.com who started his recent piece with “George Clinton is the man.” It really isn’t to be disputed. We would love to see a George Clinton/Cardi B collab. Similar to Lady Gaga and Tony Bennet, it’ll definitely be a classic for the culture.
