#RutRoh: Mariah Carey’s Performing in Times Square Again for New Years Eve

Mariah Carey had one of the most memorable New Years Eve performances this year… and not in a good way. The performance that saw a distraught and frustrated Mariah storming off stage afterwards finally gets a chance to get a do-over. In a joint statement with Dick Clark Productions, Mariah announced her upcoming Rockin’ Eve 18 performance.

This is definitely for the best. Mariah and Dick Clark Productions went back and forth about who was responsible for her performance. For those who don’t remember, to refresh your memories, there was Milli Vanilli and there was Mariah Carey. This performance definitely rivals there’s. The difference is when Milli Vanilli got caught lip syncing to someone else’s voice which wasn’t even the issue. They ran off stage when the track started skipping.

When Mariah realized during her performance she couldn’t hear herself during her performance, she just gave up, walked around the stage smiling, joked with the audience, did a dip or two and essentially just said f*ck it. And for daaaaays later she talked about it on social media.

Her now fired manager Stella Bulochnikov said the “decision not to cut to commercial or cut the performance out of the West Coast feed is in a way sabotaging as they wanted a viral moment.” Dick Clark Productions responded saying the notion that they would “intentionally compromise the success of any artist is defamatory, outrageous and frankly absurd.”A do over is definitely needed. We’re just hoping they get it together this time because the first time was funny. A second time would just be sad. Come on Mariah. We’re rooting for you.

Glitzers, are you excited about Mariah’s New Years Eve 2018 performance? Do you think she’ll do any better this year?
