P!nk To Be Honored With BMI President’s Award For Songwriting

According to Billboard, singer-songwriter P!nk will be presented with the 2015 BMI President’s Award. The award, which commemorates “outstanding achievement in songwriting and global impact on pop culture and the entertainment industry,” has been rewarded to Adam Levine, Taylor Swift, Gloria Estefan and Willie Nelson – just to name a few. Take a look at what BMI Vice President Barbara Cane had to say about the singer below:

“P!nk is an extraordinary songwriter whose mastery of craft and passionate artistry has transformed a generation of Pop and Rock music culture around the world. She has captivated music lovers with her unforgettable, emotional and edgy magnificence of song, voice and performance.”

Her second studio album, 2001’s Missundaztood, was released worldwide in late 2001 to global commercial and critical success, critics welcoming the new pop-rock sound P!nk presented on the record, after an urban-influenced debut. It included the singles Get the Party Started, Don’t Let Me Get Me & Just Like a Pill – just to name a few.


Since her 2000 debut, P!nk has released 6 studio albums, 3 live albums, 4 compilation albums, 34 singles, and 33 music videos. To date, P!nk has sold over 40 million albums and 70 million singles worldwide, with her United States total standing at over 16 million.
