With Bodak Yellow rapidly rising up the Billboard Hot 100 chart, Cardi B is slowly getting the recognition that she deserves. Bodak Yellow is becoming some people’s song of the summer and to help capitalize on the song’s success, Cardi has done what many have before her: released a remix.

Featuring rapper Messiah, the Bodak Yellow (Latin Trap Remix) finds Cardi rapping in Spanish, paying homage to her Dominican heritage:

“No me importa a quien le caiga mal / Llevo dos mixtapes en seis meses, nadie me puede para”

Cardi revealed that some of her family still can’t understand English and she wanted to make the song easy for them to listen to:

“A lot of my family members on my dad side of the family don’t understand English. I wanted to make them proud ,Sooooo I did BODAK YELLOW IN SPANISH !!I also love Spanish music !!!”

Earlier this week the rapper and reality TV star’s single Bodak Yellow reached #8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart making it her first Top 10 hit! It also became the first rap top 10 by a female rapper unaccompanied by another artist since Nicki Minaj‘s Anaconda.
