Meghan Markle has had quite a public volatile relationship with her father staging paparazzi shots of himself and giving surprise tell all interviews airing the family dirt. One thing every little girl wants, however is to be walked down the aisle by their dad no matter what type of a monsterous creature he might be. Sadly, that wasn’t the case for Meghan Markle as her father wasn’t able to make it due to a heart attack he had a week prior. According to a new interview her father Thomas Markle did with UK’s Good Morning Britain, he revealed she cried after hearing the news.

“They were disappointed. Meghan cried, I’m sure — she did cry — and they both said, ‘Take care of yourself, we are really worried about you.’ They said the important thing is that I get better.”

He revealed he was both honored and jealous of Prince Charles for walking her down the aisle.

“I absolutely wanted to walk my daughter down the aisle … Everybody was watching my daughter and I couldn’t have been more proud. And like I said, how could I ask for a better replacement than Charles? I just wish it could have been my hand holding my daughter’s not his, but I think he was wonderful for doing it.”

But it wasn’t just his daughter sharing tears that made news as it’s become no secret her father is an attention whore and one that is quickly proving to become what that is going to be problematic for the royal family. During the last interview he gave by surprise before the wedding he revealed that Prince Harry supported Brexit and that President Trump should be “given a chance.” What a great way to start a political war all over a couple thousand dollars.

A source close to the royal family said “Meghan does not understand why her father is doing all this,” said one friend. “She is trying so hard to fit in and adapt to this very new way of life and she was once again blindsided by a father who supposedly cares about her and doesn’t want to embarrass her. Given the media circus surrounding her father’s actions before the wedding, Meghan had hoped he would have learned his lesson. She is devastated over this.”

Perhaps it would be better that the royal family just paid him to shuttup if he’s going to keep these stunts up?

“The Palace is upset because they realize Mr. Markle is a loose cannon that cannot be controlled,” one royal insider told me. “There is potential political fallout over Mr. Markle’s claims about Prince Harry’s supposed views on two very controversial topics. The royal family generally believe silence is best when outrageous claims are made, but this time, their hand might be forced to issue a statement. This is deeply upsetting for the newlyweds and the Queen.”

Thomas has gone on to state he’s interested in getting close with the royal family stating “I would love to meet the Queen. I’ve had respect for that woman since I was a child,” he told Morgan. “I think she is one of the most incredible women in the world and I would love to meet her.”

With behavior like this, he isn’t doing anything but guaranteeing that does NOT happen at this point. During all of those months Meghan spent learning how to be a royal, a little attention probably should have been spent on her father to teach him how not to be an embarrassment.

“Harry did his best to prepare Meghan for what to expect from the media as a member of the royal family, but it’s impossible. Her experience as an actress on a popular nighttime soap pales in comparison. The knives are out and, sadly, most of them appear to be coming from her own family.”

Thomas, if you are reading this, we’re going to give you the same advice we would give to any other person with family in the media. As much as is possible, people like warnings for when they’re going to be mentioned in the press, especially something casts them in even the slightest bit of unfavorable light. Call up your daughter and let her know the next time you’re going to do an interview discussing her. That’s what a good dad would do.
