LISTEN: Katy Perry Returns to the Trap with Migos Assisted ‘Bon Appetit’
Your musical dinner is served! Katy Perry has released her new single with Atlanta-based trap group Migos titled Bon Appetit. Written by Katy alongside the Migos, Karl Sandburg, Karl Schuster, Oscar Holter and Ferras Alqaisi, the Max Martin, Shellback and Oscar Holter produced song serves as the official second single from Katy’s upcoming fifth studio album.
While it’s no Dark Horse, the upbeat song features that playful and sexual tone that Katy effortlessly portrayed with Teenage Dream, her best and most critically acclaimed album to date. Migos (specifically Quavo) serve as a perfect choice for the record as they bring their laid-back style:
“Sweet tooth, no tooth fairy/Whipped cream, no dairy/She got her hot light on, screaming, “I’m ready”/No horses, no carriage.”
I really like the tropical pop beat and how easily Migos fit in here. In fact, I think that this is the perfect choice for a second single, being that Chained to the Rhythm was a little disappointing. I am now officially excited for this new era.
While there is no date set at this time, Katy’s new album is expected within the next few months.
