Lil Wayne Shares ‘Tha Carter V’ Release Date & Official Cover Art
Lil Wayne has unveiled the official album cover for his upcoming eleventh studio album, Tha Carter V, which is currently scheduled to be released on October 28, 2014 by Young Money Entertainment, Cash Money Records and Republic Records. Like the covers for Tha Carter III and IV, Tha Carter V features the rapper as a child but this time, he’s posing with his mother, Jacida “Cita” Carter. Take a look at what Lil Wayne had to say about the cover art below:
“It’s perfect. I always go with a baby picture and I wanted to go with one with my mom on it this time. This album means a lot to me. People been waiting on this album and I’m just at the point in my life and stuff to have my mom on there. It’s more than an accomplishment, it’s an achievement.”
He also apologized to his mom, due to the fact that she didn’t know that he was going to use that particular photo:
“I’m sorry moms. I didn’t tell her about the picture that I was using for the album cover. I don’t think she’s going to be upset but I know personally that she don’t really like that picture of herself ’cause she’s not looking in the camera.”
So far two singles have been released from the record: Believe Me, which is the album’s lead single and features Drake, and Krazy. Thoughts?
