For this week of #TheCut, JaVonni started by addressing the Lavar Ball controversy where he took on the media defending his decision to create his own shoe brand for his son versus a Nike endorsement. In the show’s open, he points out how easy it is to follow the media’s narrative of picking on a black athlete simply trying to be a good fatherFor those who think cultural appropriation isn’t a thing, Twitter is partnering with BET to do a study on #BlackTwitter so if it isn’t a thing, we certainly have a clear example of a blatant attempt at capitalizing off of black culture.

Glitzers, check out this week’s #TheCut with JaVonni Brustow and Anthony Smith next week
