Season 10 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta premiered on Sunday, November 5 and the show, nor the cats, wasted no time on getting details on Kenya Moore‘s marriage to husband Marc Daly.

What may have surprised a lot of viewers is that Kenya’s father nor her bestfriend, Cynthia Bailey, were invited to the secret wedding. While she simply chose not to invite Cynthia, Kenya stated that her father, Ronald Grant, was unavailable at the time but Sunday’s show revealed the truth:

“I decided not to invite my father because you never know what he’s going to say. He can’t be controlled. And I didn’t want there to be anything at my wedding to upset my future husband. I didn’t want anything to spoil my wedding day. … I knew that if he said the wrong thing — and I know my husband — [it would mess up everything].”

When her dad confronted her about the news, she stated:

“I definitely went away and eloped because I just didn’t want it to be full of drama. Remember, I tried to talk to you before about it, and you kind of said some things that wasn’t necessarily encouraging.”

There are also rumors circulating stating that producers are looking to fire Kenya for keeping her marriage hidden and not speaking about it on the show. Kenya isn’t backing down and is standing by her husband:

“My wedding was incredibly beautiful, intimate and PRIVATE…that’s what we wanted. I married for love not for cameras. I met a man who was so special to me I would have married him at the courthouse. My marriage is sacred to me and my My Aunt Lori, Brandon, my sister Lisa and best friend of 30 years all attended for my side.”
