Kendrick Lamar Earns Second #1 Debuting Album With ‘Untitled Unmastered’

Great news for Kendrick Lamar fans this morning! It’s been announced┬áthat his surprise album, Untitled Unmastered, has managed to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

The album earned sales of 178,000 equivalent units and 142,000 in pure album sales in the week ending March 10.

The set was released without advance notice on March 4 and gives him his second chart-topping set in less than a year, following To Pimp a Butterfly, and serves as his second #1 debuting album on the chart.

Kendrick is the third act since January 2015 to notch two #1s in less than 12 months time, following Drake and Future.

The second highest debut this week comes from another rapper, 2 Chainz, as his album ColleGrove debuts at #4 with sales of 53,000 units (34,000 in pure album sales).

It follows his #3-peaking B.O.A.T.S. II #MeTime (#3 debut and peak in 2013) and his chart-topping Based on a T.R.U. Story (2012).
