Kanye West Saves Himself Embarrassment & Stays Backstage at NYFW

Kanye West debuted Season 5 of his Yeezy clothing line, something bound to be a highly publicized, guaranteed high fashion, high drama event… except the show’s star was nowhere to be found. After a turmultuous year of his wife, Kim Kardashian being robbed in Paris and mocked around the world, not believing it happened to his days long hospital stay from an apparent meltdown of sorts, fans were just as excited to see him as they were the fashions, if not more. People want to keep up and make sure he’s doing well. But instead of making a grand entrance as a re-emergence back into the public eye, Yeezy was a no show for his own show, no where to be seen.

The Pier 59 space in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood was pitch black for the show with guests using their cell phones to find their seats to later be greeted by images of models walking on jumbo screens. Later on they appeared on stage wearing the same thing as in the video. This was a more demure display compared to the human pyramid he had created at Madison Square Garden in the past. That does however seems to be his thing these days especially after abruptly canceling a tour, a series of bizarre on stage rants and a public appearance at Trump Tower. It appears he is being more careful and deliberate about his public persona, as is his wife.

Glitzers, watch the finale of the Yeezy Season 5 show below:
