Janet Jackson NO LONGER Banned from Super Bowl following Justin Timberlake Performance Announcement
After much speculation, it was confirmed that singer and dancer Justin Timberlake will be headlining Super Bowl LII‘s Halftime Show, which will take place on February 18, 2018.
The performance will serve as Justin’s first since he appeared with Janet Jackson in 2004, and her fans were not happy with Justin accepting the job as Janet suffered major backlash from the nipplegate incident.
Following the incident, CBS permitted Justin to appear at the 46th Grammy Awards ceremony but did not allow Janet to attend, forcing her to withdraw after being scheduled as a presenter, and Janet had to cancel her plans of starring in a TV movie about Lena Horne and her eighth studio album, Damita Jo was overshadowed. The album’s performance was largely affected by public backlash and the blacklisting from radio and music channels.
However, Justin’s star continued to rise through it all.
TMZ reportedly reached out to the NFL and they stated that Janet is NO LONGER banned and if Justin has ANY SENSE he would have her as one of his guests as an official apology.
