Jacob Latimore Talks with Buffalo, NY Students for Black History Month
Milwaukee born R&B singer Jacob Latimore recently took part in the Canisius College Academic Talent Search program in Buffalo, New York as a surprise for Black History Month. Following the release of his debut album, Connection, he let the students there in attendance, who stood up and screamed as if they were in a concert hall when he walked in “You don’t have to be just a musician or an actor. I’m showing you that I put my mind to it, I did what I wanted to do, that’s what I want to encourage the youth to do, if they want to be a lawyer or a basketball player, rapper, doctor, whatever.”
Jacob has had a level of dedication even as a young child that’s enviable to say the least. He got his start by watching The Temptations film over and over until he memorized all the lines and dance moves and produced his first song at 9 while most were at home watching television. He’s now starring alongside Will Smith in the film Collateral Beauty, living proof of how far a healthy drive can get you and a perfect choice to be an example to teens just starting out.
