IS SHE SERIOUS?: M.I.A. Accuses Beyonce, & Rihanna Of “Stealing” Her Sound

Rapper M.I.A. has always been outspoken, but it looks like she chose the wrong time and artists, to speak about. In a recent interview with Q magazine, the British rapper and singer-songwriter dissed Beyonce, Rihanna and Madonna, the latter of whom she worked with a few years ago:

“I’m fine with Madonna or Beyoncé or Rihanna being ‘inspired’ by my work. But I would like them to then go, ‘Yeah, this immigrant who came out of nowhere influenced us, so maybe not all of them are f**king terrible.”

She added:

“They don’t even think like that. They go ‘Yeah, maybe me stealing the stuff says she’s all right. She should be thankful we’re stealing it. But sometimes you just think, ‘Fuck, I have to pay some bills,’ you know?'”

Later focusing on Beyonce, she then stated:

“Beyoncé comes from the school of Michael Jackson-ness. Where the family built an entire world to support you. From when you were a child. I never had that luxury.”

Do you guys think that Rihanna and Beyonce are influenced by M.I.A.? I’m not completely sure why she even mentioned Madonna, because Madonna CLEARLY chose to work with her on MDNA because she was influenced by her…in that sense, M.I.A. is reaching.
