Ginuwine Called Transphobic after Refusing to Kiss a Trans Woman on Celebrity Big Brother

R&B singer and dancer Ginuwine has landed himself in some hot water, and honestly I FEEL THAT HE DID NOTHING WRONG AND PEOPLE ARE TAKING IT TO A PLACE THAT IT SHOULDN’T BE. It all started after a moment between him and his Big Brother UK co-star, India Willoughby, who identifies as a transwoman.

Ginuwine was asked if he would date a transwoman during the show segment, to which he said no and then India tried to kiss Ginuwine but he shot her down and walked away from her. Because of that, Ginuwine has been labeled transphobic by viewers and Twitter:

This has caused Twitter to go into a full out war as one side is outraged by Ginuwine’s rejection, suggesting that his unwillingness to date trans women is transphobic and bigoted:

While the other feels that he he has a choice to date whomever he chooses:

I personally feel that Ginuwine is being harassed and this is one of the moments that make acceptance of the LGBT community hard. India was literaly forcing herself on Ginuwine, who was clearly not interested. If this was the other way around, Ginuwine would be in trouble for sexual harassment.

There is no reason to why a straight man should be labeled as transpobic simply because he is not interested in dating a trasnwoman. YES A TRANSWOMAN IS A WOMAN but there are many people who don’t see it that way and that does NOT make them transpobic.
