Future Tells Zane Lowe He’s More than His Relationship with Ciara

Future just released an album today, the fifth of his career, self-titled following a social media hiatus and highly publicized breakup. In a recent interview with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1 Radio, he explained how he took the break to focus on making good music because let’s face it, there probably wasn’t a moment he opened Twitter where it was nothing but questions and clowning about breaking up with Ciara. In the process, over the years he’s taken on a number of personas but chose to go back to his roots and essentially be himself, hence the self-titled album. And if the album isn’t enough for you, he’ll be embarking on the Nobody Safe Tour with Migos, Tory Lanez and Kodak Black starting May 4th.

Glitzers, check out Future’s interview with Zane Lowe on his new self titled album below:

On his social media hiatus:
“It was probably the best thing I’d ever done. I’m just not giving it attention. I want to give the music attention and be in the studio. I want to give all my attention to my music, my kids, my family so I just wanna focus on certain things besides social media.”

On choosing to name his new album after himself:
“Now is the time, two to three years they weren’t ready, they wanted Future, they wanted “Real Sisters” they wanted me to be the ratchet-est and say the most disrespectful sh*t. And I understand that’s what music is, it makes you feel different kinds of ways.”
