The Lyons will continue to roar as the television favorite has been picked up for a fourth season by Fox Television.

The early renewal of the nail-biting drama series was announced on Wednesday at the Television Critics Association‘s winter press tour by the Television’s Group Chairman and CEO Gary Newman.

The renewal is hardly a surprise has Empire has been ‘winning’ unapologetically since its release in 2015. So far the series has landed an unnumbered amount of nominations for all major awards, and promises to continue this trend. Early renewal is familiar territory for the series as the show’s second and third season also received early renewals. The renewal for season two was announced after the first two episodes of season one and the renewal for season three was also announced at last year’s TCA tour.

The show is currently on a three months break and gives way to the premiere of Star; another Lee Daniels production, also on Fox.

Empire is the birthing ground for a number of hit music and is also known to feature a number of celebrity appearances yearly, to costar alongside main gal; Taraji P. Henson who plays Cookie Lyon, Terrance Howard as the father and jungle king Lucious Lyon. The musically inclined off-springs Jamal Lyon (played by the handsome and talented Jussie Smollet), Hakeem Lyon (Bryshere “Yazz” Gray) and the business savvy Andre Lyon (ably played by Trai Byers). Other cast members and fan favorites include: Grace Byers, Gabourey Sidibe, Ta’Rhonda Jones.

Empire is the first live-action series to receive a pickup for the 2017-18 season by Fox and will return to our screens on March 22 to air the latter half of season 3.

We can’t wait!
