Dan Returns from the Dead 20 Years Later in Roseanne Remake

It’s been 20 years since the season finale of Roseanne and she’s back with her husband Dan who died in the show’s last episode. In a shocking twist, seeing him there she eerily looks at him saying “You can’t live in he past, Dan!” The hilarious acknowledgment of the obvious was about Dan’s thoughts on the current state of the Chicago Bulls… simultaneously pointing out that his existence there IS the past. “When things are gone, they’re gone forever” Roseanne tells her once deceased husband. This should be interesting to see play out regarding whether he’s going to remain for the rest of the shows.

Roseanne, the number one show in its second season has only been ordered to return as an 8 episode. The show that served as an anthem for lower middle class middle America couldn’t come at a better time as the 2016 Presidential election was seen as a victory for that demographic. The elephant in the room is if the show’s star, Roseanne Barr will sabotage the show with her extreme, if not borderline deranged political rhetoric. She once called Lorde a bigot urging her fans to boycott her music, and has even gone as far as saying she had plans to do porn… in her 60s. In 2013 she admitted to having mental health issues and has ranted about her career failures and disappointment in her experiences in the industry.

It’s been a long two decades since Roseanne has been in living rooms across America and though I was never a fan of the show because I couldn’t relate to her family I’m proud of her for being able to make a return if not for a short period of time. I also hope that people will be able to separate political opinion with talent. It’s okay to watch someone on television you disagree with.
