Chicago Cubs Infielder Javier Baez Covers ESPN’s 2017 Body Issue
I fell in love with baseball player Javier Baez last year, and for the longest, it was just based on pictures because I did not know his name at the time! After doing some deep and extensive research, I found his Twitter and Instagram and in my head, we’ve been in a relationship ever since. So when I caught wind that he was one of the cover stars for the yearly ESPN Body Issue, I got BEYOND excited.
The 24-year-old Chicago Cubs infielder shows off his muscular and toned body in his photoshoot, which was shot exclusively with the iPhone 7 camera.
Inside the issue, Javier opens up about the lost of his sister back in 2015 and how his family manages to inspire him everyday. He also speaks on being left-handed and how it makes it easier for him to play the sport and the significance of each of his tattoos:
“My family remains my source of inspiration. My sister is gone, but she still inspires me. My mother stopped living for herself in order to live with my sister for 22 years. And she never complained. For me, that is incredible. She did everything my sister needed to be done, gracefully. They, and my whole family, are my inspiration.”
