Cardi B’s ‘Invasion of Privacy’ Certified Gold after being Released for Less Than a Day

Cardi B finally released her highly anticipated debut album today and after only being released for almost 12 hours, the album has already been certified Gold. YES PEOPLE, CARDI B’S ALBUM HAS REACHED GOLD STATUS AND IT ISN’T EVEN A FULL DAY YET! This makes her the first female to be certified the same day her album dropped!!!


ChartData, which tracks the sales and streams of albums and singles, reveals that the album was already set to be certified gold before its release due to the major success of the single Bodak Yellow, as it sold 5 million units. Because 10 track units = 1 album sale, the album has 500k+ units, though they will not be included in official first week numbers.

The album is sure to sell over the mark in its debut as Bartier Cardi, which features 21 Savage, has just been certified platinum.

Since its release, the album has earned positive reviews from fans and critics alike, with USA TODAY stating:

With 13 tracks, Invasion of Privacy isn’t overstuffed with endless filler tracks like many releases by Cardi’s rap peers. The album features guest appearances by Migos, Chance the Rapper, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Kehlani, 21 Savage, YG and SZA, with production from 30 Roc, Benny Blanco, Boi-1da, Cheeze Beatz, Murda Beatz and Vinylz – just to name a few.
