Every year or so, there is a movie or event that brings Black people from all over the world together, to collectively rejoice and partake together. Earlier this year one of those things was the New Edition Story and earlier this week it was Part I of the Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Season 6 Reunion.

But next year, we will all be flocking to the theaters to see the Black Panther, and after a well-received teaser trailer, the cast of the film (Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan) covers this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly, which will hit newsstands on Friday, July 14.

Take a look at what director, Ryan Coogler had to say below:

“What makes [Black Panther] different from other superheroes, first and foremost, is he doesn’t see himself as a superhero. He sees himself as a politician.”

Along with Chadwick Boseman, Lupita Nyong’o and Michael B. Jordan, Black Panther also stars Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis. It is set to be released in the United States on February 16, 2018.
