BILLBOARD MUSIC AWARDS 2017: Drake Breaks Adele’s Record for Most Wins in One Night + See Full List of Winners

The 2017 Billboard Music Awards ended just moments ago and it was actually pretty good overall. Last year the people behind the show made the mistake of having Britney Spears open the show and I was done after that. But with a lineup consisting of Drake, Halsey, Cher, Celine Dion and Bruno Mars, I was forced to watch the full show and I’m not upset about it.

While the night originally belonged to Cher, she ended up sharing her spotlight with rapper and singer Drake. Already a big winner before the show began, Drake managed to accept 2 more awards live on the TV, the first tying him with super star Adele and the last one surpassing her record for most awards won in one night.

The Toronto rapper took home 13 of the 22 nominations he had this year. In 2012, Adele won 12 of her then 20 nominations. For the final award of the night, Top Artist, Drake brought his father, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and all of his family and friends who attended the show with him tonight, where he thanked them, his fans and even shouted out Adele.

While Drake won the most awards tonight, other big winners included Twenty One Pilots, who won the Billboard Chart Achievement Award, Beyonce for Top Female Artist, KPop group BTS, The Chainsmokers & Halsey for Top Collaboration and Zayn for Top New Artist – just ot name a few.
