Beyonce Officially Joins the All-Star Cast of Disney’s Live Action ‘Lion King’ Remake

It’s official! After much talk and speculation over the past few months, it has been announced that Beyonce has officially joined the cast of The Lion King as Nala!

She now joins Donald Glover as Simba and James Earl Jones, who will be reprising his iconic role as Mufasa. The full cast also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor as the scheming Scar, Alfre Woodard as Simba’s mother, Sarabi, John Oliver as Zasu, and John Kani as Rafiki with Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner as Simba’s friends Pumbaa and Timon.

 

The cast is rounded out by Florence Kasumba, Eric André, and Keegan-Michael Key as the three hyenas , Shenzi, Banzai and Ed, as well as JD McCrary and Shahadi Wright Joseph as the child versions of Simba and Nala.

Being that today is November 1st and the way that things are moving, fans won’t have to wait too long for The Lion King as it will hit theaters on July 19, 2019.
