In 2014, power couple Beyonce & Jay Z went on a VERY successful joint tour titled the On the Run Tour. The title was a spin off from the 2013 song Part II (On the Run), included on Jay-Z’s album Magna Carta Holy Grail, on which Beyoncé features, which also serves as the PART II to 2003’s ’03 Bonnie & Clyde.

An official poster for the tour was released along with the announcement of the venture, showing Beyoncé and Jay-Z embracing whilst dressed in black ski masks and a faux movie trailer video was premiered in May 2014 entitled Run (stylized as RUN), featuring Don Cheadle, Guillermo Díaz, Kidada Jones, Rashida Jones, Blake Lively, Emmy Rossum and Sean Penn.

The tour consisted of 22 dates: 20 in North America and 2 in Europe. Due to the large demand and tickets selling out in minutes in multiple locations, extra tour dates were added to the itinerary. The tour became a commercial success, grossing $96 million in the first 19 North American shows and $109.7 million in total as well as attendance totaling at 979,781.

Earlier today Ticketmaster and Beyonce’s Facebook page announced a new date for On the Run 2 at Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Field, but it was quickly removed:

Though I’m sure this was a complete accident, an official tour announcement is expected this month.
