Beyonce Cancels Coachella Performance + Will Headline Next Year
And it’s official. Last year fans were excited to learn that superstar Beyonce would be one of the headliners for Coachella, but after she announced her pregnancy a few weeks ago, fans, and organizers, began to worry.
Beyonce, at the time, stated that she would still take the stage, but it looks like there’s been a change.
In a statement to The Associated Press on Thursday, February 23, Beyoncé’s Parkwood Entertainment and festival producer Goldenvoice revealed that the Queen Bey would NOT be taking the stage, at least not this year:
“Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyoncé has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.”
Beyoncé was originally set to perform April 15 and 22, while Radiohead and Kendrick Lamar will also headline the two-weekend festival in Indio, California. Radiohead will perform on April 14 and 21, and Lamar on April 16 and 23.
