I have some great news for all of my fellow New Edition fans! It has just been revealed that BET will be presenting the legendary R&B group with the Lifetime Achievement Award!

There’s also some good news for Chance the Rapper as he will be honored with the Humanitarian Award presented by Walmart.

Earlier this year BET helped the band kick off their 30th anniversary with a three-part docuseries about the group’s career and personal life called The New Edition Story, which was a MAJOR ratings success.

They were also honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on January 23, 2017.

In their career, New Edition has released 7 albums and sold over 20 million records worldwide.

Chance the Rapper, who headlined the Governors Ball in New York on June 2, made news this year when he pledged to donate $1 million to Chicago Public Schools to help offset the lack of government funding. The social activist also won three Grammy Awards in February including best new artist and best rap album for Coloring Book.

The 2017 BET Awards will air live Sunday, June 25 from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles at 8 p.m. ET. Beyonce leads this year’s list of nominees with a total of seven nods including R&B/Pop Artist and Album of The Year for LEMONADE, while Bruno Mars comes in second place with with five nods including Video of the Year. Solange, Migos and Chance the Rapper are also scored multiple nominations.
